Before attempting to apply a hair shimmering, you can practice using two pieces of yarn. On this example, the dark yarn is one strand of hair and the orange yarn is the hair shimmering.
A. Separate one strand of hair and pull it up from the root. Select one hair shimmering and place it next to the hair and hold them both in your right hand.
B. Next, as illustrated in Picture 1, place your first two fingers on your left hand in front of the strands with your fingernails pointing towards you.
C. Fold your two (left hand fingers) over, hooking the strands and turn them over to make a loop as illustrated in Picture 2.
D. Take the hair and the shimmering that you are holding in your right hand and put them both between the two fingers of your left hand as shown in Figure 3.
E. Close your two fingers together once you have both the shimmering and the hair tightly clamped and then pull them through the loop as shown in Figure 4.
F. To make a knot as close to the root of the hair, pull the hair first & then slide the shimmering down toward the root and slowly tighten the knot as shown in Figure 5. Gently pull the other end of the shimmering for a final tightening.
